A message from Amber Fender, LISW-CP/S...

I use evidence-based, time-tested therapy interventions because the goal is for people to see themselves through the lens of curiosity rather than judgment, just as I see them.

This allows a gentler space to open up for growth from within.

I mostly use a blend of the following therapies to help develop tools for living a more fulfilling life:

*Effective Virtual Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

*Emotionally Focused Therapy

*Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

*Problem-Solving Therapy

*Solution-Focused Therapy

*Motivational Interviewing

*Psychodynamic Therapy

What to Expect in Person

In-office therapy extras:
Sound/tone therapy
"Yoga for your mind": 3 minutes of original aural and neuromodulation tone sequences for mental stimulation and soothing. The effect of a 30-minnute meditation in 3 minutes to leave you refreshed and focused at the beginning or end of every session.

Weighted lap blanket

5 pounds of velvety material to help calm your nervous system and help you feel grounded during for therapy sessions. Excellent for those with anxiety and depression so that you can do the work you need to do with as much comfort as possible.

EMDR Tappers
As a therapist trained in Eye Movement and Desensitization Therapy (EMDR), I use tappers and headphones as an option for bilateral stimulation. Sessions provided through telehealth can be accommodated without the use of tappers and is considered just as effective. It's all a matter of preference. The option is yours.
